The Assault Rifle is the default recommendation for a reason. 28 damage with auto fire works at every range, and it teaches the fundamentals — burst fire at distance, full auto up close — that transfer to every other gun in the game.
General use on every map. It's the safest gun to main while you learn the game.
Burst-fire in 3-4 round taps past mid-range to control recoil. The AR's full-auto spray only wins inside 15 meters.
